Dodgers Place Ohtani on Injured List

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts announced Wednesday that two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani will be placed on the injured list due to lingering soreness in his right biceps and left knee.

Ohtani has missed six of the last seven games and will not pitch the remainder of the season, focusing instead on his hitting. "It's the right thing to do," Roberts said following the Dodgers' 14-1 win over Cincinnati on Wednesday. "We tried to kick the bucket as much as we could." librea.one

The four-time MVP would likely return for postseason games, as Roberts indicated Ohtani would be in the lineup on Thursday "if it were a postseason game." The Dodgers are off Thursday before opening a seven-game trip in Miami on Friday, with top prospect Josue De Paula expected to join the team.
