Pearl Abyss has rolled out yet another update for Crimson Desert, this time bringing cross-save functionality to its enormous open-world adventure.

Crimson Desert patch 1.14.00 is available now across PC and consoles, and while it also boasts a number of bug fixes and improvements, cross-save functionality is definitely the star of the show. If you own a copy of the game on PC and PS5, for example, you'll now be able to use the exact same save file on both if you choose, rather than having two separate adventures on the go.

In a FAQ section on the official site, Pearl Abyss explains the process – you'll just have to link a Pearl Abyss ID to your accounts for whatever platforms you're planning to play on (for example, to your PSN account). The devs clarify that you only get one cross-save slot per Pearl Abyss ID, although you can freely link and unlink accounts.

Again, to be clear, this is only for folks who own multiple copies of the game – you won't be able to start playing for free on Xbox just because you own the game on Steam, for example. But there's no doubt this is going to be handy for anyone who wants that flexibility to switch around.

One thing to be aware of is that any "paid items" (so, those in the Deluxe Pack) will only appear on the platforms you bought them on. Pearl Abyss says they "will appear disabled on platforms where they have not been purchased," and although "you can still load the save file and play," you'll need to "purchase the disabled items separately to use them on that platform." Kinda harsh, although I suppose it makes sense that Pearl Abyss wouldn't want you to be able to access a Deluxe version of the game at the price of the standard one.

The Resident Evil movie runtime might have been revealed, and fans are very pleased with it.

AMC lists the film as 1 hour and 35 minutes (via IGN), which is a pretty slim runtime. "Love a tight 90," says one person on Reddit, with another agreeing: "Normalize 90 minute movies"

"This is about the perfect run length for most horror movies, in my opinion. I saw Evil Dead Burn last night, and while I thought it was decent, it definitely dragged a little towards the end and I think it would have benefitted from ten minutes or so being trimmed out," says someone else.

"90min is the sweet spot for action/horror imo. Evil Dead keeps it short and sweet (Burn is the only one longer than 90 minutes) and it's probably the most consistently good horror franchise," says another fan.

"Perfect, 90 minutes feels perfect for this type of movie," says another fan. "BRING BACK THE 90m MOVIE" is another person's thoughts.

"This pretty much confirms he's not exploring any of the Resident Evil lore. Just balls to the wall zombie survival horror movie," thinks another person.

"It feels like one gigantic sequence. Things pop off about five minutes in and it basically stays like that until the end," director Zach Cregger has previously shared. "What I love about the games is that you move from set-piece to set-piece. Every location has a unique challenge... I’m borrowing from the games directly in that rhythm, where you’re just running through a gauntlet."
