Persona big boss says 'I think we have to do' remakes of the series most-neglected games

We're up to our necks in Persona. Whichever entry you're keen on, there's something for you. Persona 3? Enjoy the port of Persona 3 Portable, or the Persona 3 remake, or its Episode Aigis DLC. Enjoy Persona 4? Why, that's getting a flashy remake of its own. Or maybe you're a Persona 5 fan? Revel in the veritable mountain of P5-themed stuff that is sprinkled all across videogames like the fallout of a meteor strike.

Oh, unless you like Persona 1 and/or 2, of course, in which case please return to your hole and cease speaking. chincha.pl

So it goes. Despite being the games most obviously in need of a gloss-up, Persona's PS1-era games have never gotten much love from Atlus and Sega. But maybe that could change? In a recent chat with GamerBraves, Persona series producer Kazuhisa Wada said that—so far as he's concerned—Persona 1 and 2 remakes are damn-near a necessity.

"At this point, I can’t say for sure [if Persona 1 and 2 remakes will happen]," said Wada, but added that "personally, I think it’s something we should definitely do. I think we have to do it."

Of course, right now, Wada and Atlus are preoccupied with Persona 4 Revival, which comes out in February next year. “Persona 4 is, personally, a very important work for me, a very important title, and I think it’s a title that speaks to a lot of people within the series as well."

It's not shocking that the Persona team's focus has been fixated on 3, 4, and 5. P3 was the game that knocked the series into the social sim high school drama we all associate it with. P1 and P2, meanwhile, were different beasts, more in line with the Shin Megami Tensei games the Persona series originally sprang from than later entries. I'd be very keen to get a chance to play them on modern systems.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic devs were so committed to the RPG's bad language that they spent a day watching the films to prove Lucasfilm wrong

One Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic dev spent an entire day scrubbing through the films in search of a specific word that Lucasfilm said the RPG team wasn't allowed to use.

In an interview with FRVR, BioWare's Mark Darrah - who didn't work on KOTOR but was active at the studio and eventually helped make MMO The Old Republic - said that Lucasfilm had a specific problem with the RPG's language. Specifically, they didn't like the use of the word 'damn', which they claimed wasn't something that a Star Wars character would say.

To prove Lucasfilm wrong, Darrah says that "one of the writers on KOTOR spent an entire day scrubbing through the moves, pulling out every instance of a character saying 'damn'." While Darrah's suggestion - that there were nearly 20 uses - is inaccurate, avid fans have determined that by the time KOTOR was released in 2003, the word 'damn' had appeared thrice - once in A New Hope, once in The Empire Strikes Back, and once in 2002's Attack of the Clones.

Unfortunately, even with that proof, BioWare's victory was only partial. Darrah says that most of the 'damns' were removed from the script because "the rights holder always wins." He suggests that KOTOR was an early casualty of Lucasfilm's attempts to cleanse real-world bad language from the Star Wars universe - something that we've seen over the years since then with the arrival of fake swear words like 'kriff' and 'poodoo'.

It wasn't a total defeat, however - KOTOR's ESRB rating is T(een), with much of that given over to its depictions of violence rather than its very mild bad language. A few real-world cusses made their way into the final script, even if Lucasfilm was able to remove the majority of them from BioWare's work.

5 years after it was revealed, KOTOR remake is "still in development," Saber boss confirms, as we await any morsel of info on the reimagined BioWare Star Wars RPG.

How to upgrade the Cargo Elevator antennas in Arc Raiders

The new Arc Raiders Phantom Targets project is all about helping Shani track and trace some mysterious arc that seem to be popping up across topside. During the first phase, she asks you to "upgrade antennas found on top of any Cargo Elevator," and you'll have to find three and tinker with them to complete the objective.

In case you don't recall what a Cargo Elevator is in Arc Raiders, I'll explain where to find them below so you can complete this stage.

How to upgrade the Cargo Elevator antennas in Arc Raiders

You can upgrade the antennas at any of the extract elevators on Dam Battlegrounds, Spaceport, or Riven Tides (Image credit: Embark Studios)

What this objective calls Cargo Elevators refers to the extraction points you can find on Dam Battlegrounds, Spaceport, or Riven Tides—the ones that look like a little bunker with four doors that lower to let you inside.

What you need to do is climb onto the roof of one of these and fix the antenna (the scaffolding with the radar dishes on), then proceed to do it at two other extraction points. This does seem slightly bugged at the moment in that the icon you interact with on top of the elevator doesn't go away after you activate it.

However, if you open your map and check the quest progress, you'll see that it still counts towards the total of three elevators that you need to upgrade. You also don't have to do all three elevators in a single run, or on the same map, so you can break it up across any of the regions mentioned above. Once that's done, complete the first step in the project to get:

  • Combat Mk.3 (Aggressive)
  • Heavy Shield
  • Vita Spray

Not too shabby a haul for such a quick and easy quest.

Steam user data 'may have been compromised' by a cyberattack targeting Valve's European shipping partner

Earlier this morning, Valve began contacting customers who have purchased Steam hardware in Europe to notify them that one of its regional shipping partners, CEVA Logistics, was the subject of a recent cyberattack that "likely" exposed their personal information.

In its email—shared by notified users on Reddit and elsewhere—Valve said the attack took place sometime between July 29 and August 1, 2026. The company explained that the attackers targeted "specific delivery-related information" that Valve provides to CEVA Logistics in order to fulfill hardware orders for European customers, which the France-headquartered shipping company retains "for up to 90 days after that order."

In a statement emailed to PC Gamer, Valve confirmed that it first learned of the attack on August 7.

"Over the weekend more details came through that allowed us to assemble a list of customers that we see at risk of having been affected," Valve told PC Gamer. "Though CEVA is still investigating the attack, we wanted to at least send out messaging to all customers we can assume were affected based on what we currently know."

Valve says the name, street addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and order details of European customers whose orders were fulfilled by CEVA Logistics "may have been compromised."

The company warns that affected users should be vigilant about fraudulent messages masquerading as Valve or a delivery company, and that those attempts might use compromised information to seem genuine. However, Valve says users shouldn't need to change their passwords, and because its shipping partners aren't provided with any customer payment information or other non-delivery details, any unrelated Steam account information should still be secure.

According to FreightWaves reporting, eight CEVA warehouse hubs were affected by the cyberattack, causing shipping delays across Europe for its retail partners.

It's unclear how many users in total have been affected by the breach: Valve itself is still working to get all the details of the cyberattack, as it says it's "pressing CEVA for the full scope of what was taken and how" while it works with data protection authorities in respective European countries. In a statement given to TechCrunch, CEVA says its "thorough investigation" of the incident is still ongoing.
